We’re inviting photographers of all ages and abilities to help design our brand-new Warden van for 2026. Submit your best shots from the Exe Estuary, Dawlish Warren, or the Pebblebed Heaths for the chance to have your image featured on the vehicle. 

You can enter up to three photographs, and please note that all submissions may also be used in our wider communications to help showcase the incredible wildlife and landscapes we protect. The Photo Call-Out closes last day to submit photos is on Monday 19 January 2026

How to Enter 

Please email your submission to [email protected] and include the following information: 

  • Full name:
  • Photo credit name (if different):
  • Phone number:
  • Where the photographs were taken:
  • When the photographs were taken:
  • About the photographs: 
    (e.g., species featured, what was happening in the moment, any relevant context)
  • Confirmation that no wildlife was disturbed while taking the photographs 

Submitting Your Photographs 

Attach up to three photographs to your email. If your high-resolution images are too large to send, please attach lower-resolution versions instead. We will contact you separately to request the full-quality files for the selected photographs. 

Each photograph must be clearly labelled with: 

  • the photographer’s name, and
  • a brief description of the image. 

By emailing us your photographs, you confirm that you accept the terms and conditions below. 

 What We’re Looking For 

Your photographs must: 

  • Contain large amount of blank space (such as sky, sand, water etc.) for text to be overlayed
  • Original photograph which hasn’t been used elsewhere and be high enough resolution (150dpi minimum) to be enlarged without pixelation (if shortlisted, we will contact you for a higher-resolution file).
  • Be taken at one of our three reserves (Exe Estuary, Dawlish Warren or Pebblebed Heaths)
  • Be original images captured by you.
  • Been taken without causing wildlife disturbance or harmful behaviour.
  • Not involve drone use (drones are not permitted on these sites).
  • Not be AI-generated. 

Terms & Conditions 

1. Organisers 

This photo call-out request is organised by South East Devon Wildlife
By submitting your images, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. 
South East Devon Wildlife reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time without notice. 

 2. Submission Eligibility 

  • The call-out request for photos is open to all.
  • If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or guardian. Submission of photographs will be taken as confirmation that such consent has been granted.
  • Submissions must be received by the closing date specified on the call-out page. Late entries cannot be accepted. Sending is not proof of receipt.
  • South East Devon Wildlife cannot be held responsible for submissions not received due to email security settings or restrictions placed by your internet provider.
  • Only digital submissions following the process outlined on our webpage will be accepted. 

 3. Requirements for Submitted Images 

By submitting images to South East Devon Wildlife, you confirm and warrant that: 

  • You are the sole author and copyright holder of each image submitted.
  • Images are your original work, taken by you and not used elsewhere.
  • Images were taken at one of the following sites:
  • Dawlish Warren National Nature Reserve
  • The East Devon Pebblebed Heaths
  • The Exe Estuary
  • You have not granted any rights to the image that would conflict with the rights granted to South East Devon Wildlife.
  • Your images were taken responsibly and without disturbing wildlife or breaching site regulations.
  • Your images do not involve drone use (drones are not permitted on these sites).
  • Your images are not AI-generated. 

South East Devon Wildlife may refuse or remove any submission for any reason. 

 4. Image Specifications 

  • Images must be high enough resolution for large-format printing (minimum 150dpi at full size).
  • Images must include areas of “blank” or uncluttered space (e.g., sky, sand, water) suitable for text overlay.
  • Up to three photographs may be submitted per person.
  • Digital adjustments are acceptable. Cropping is allowed.
  • Images must not depict:
  • Disturbance to wildlife
  • Wildlife photographed in zoos, collections, fairs, or similar controlled environments 

 5. Use of Images 

By submitting your images, you grant South East Devon Wildlife a non-exclusive, irrevocable licence to reproduce, publish, or exhibit the images in any media for purposes connected with our work. 

This may include (but is not limited to): 

  • Display on the new warden van
  • Use on South East Devon Wildlife websites, social media channels, printed materials, email communications, and reports
  • Use in press releases and publicity relating to the call-out or our wider conservation work
  • Use in promotional content for South East Devon Wildlife and its partners
  • All images will be treated as a donation, as we’re unable to offer payment. However, photographers will be credited (if you’d like your name included). 

Every reasonable effort will be made to credit the photographer whenever an image is used. 

 6. Selection Process 

Submitted images will be reviewed by a panel of South East Devon Wildlife staff. 
Images for the van and gazebo will be considered based on (but is not limited to): 

  • Suitability for van/gazebo design
  • Representation of the three protected sites
  • Technical quality and clarity 

Selection decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the process. 

 7. Liability and Indemnity 

To the maximum extent permitted by law, South East Devon Wildlife accepts no liability for any loss, damage, or expense arising in connection with your submission. 
You agree to indemnify South East Devon Wildlife against any claims arising from your breach of these terms, including intellectual property infringement. 

 8. General 

These Terms & Conditions are governed by English Law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts. 
Any breach of these Terms may result in removal of your submission.
